Bad things comes in threes
Dear Folks
We know that many of you have waited for an update about our golfing experiences. The reason I have not made any the last couple of days you can read below.
Most people today are talking about Corona, but (what does not appear on our blog and Instagram, is the following – which have absolutely nothing to do with Corona). You may recon the saying: bad things comes in threes.
1. On our flight down to Cape Town I got an infection in my left hand that spread slightly up my arm. After some days playing golf in Stellenbosch, I realized that I needed help and got it from a local pharmacist. With penicillin it was cured in a few days.
2. But after the healing, though I think independent hereof, a kind of stomach infection followed, which caused me to throw up a couple of times during the night. Eza had to enjoy a dinner with some of our friends from Kirkwood without me. We played Kirkwood, but my experience of an unusual physical fatigue did not disappear.
Some days later we ended up at Durban Country Club. A fantastic old course. The night before, I slept 10 hours without interruption – as a little baby, and felt reasonably ready to play Durban. I played the first nine holes in a really good score, but then went completely dead. It then led to another night of 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep. But of course we had a plan, the White River Country Club waited for us.
After the round, we met a married couple at a local restaurant (Viv and Neil), with whom we had a great chat and we decided to play together the next day. After the game we were invited to stay with them. We had a great evening with local food – a real South African braai (bbq) which my stomach couldn’t appreciate at all.
3. The next morning they noticed the 2 mosquito bites on my left leg (that I had known for some days) and mentioned – without hesitation; good friend, these bites are tick bites; there is only one way and that is to head for a doctor. Here I was prescribed various pills and antibiotics. Fine; now in 8-10 days I can expect to be on the top again.
Here is the symptom description
The most common symptoms of tick-related illnesses are: Fever/chills, Aches and pains, headaches, fatigue, and muscle aches and believe me I suffered all of these.
Cross your fingers that bad things comes in threes – ONLY. And may your next round be fantastic.
Comments, questions and suggestions are always welcome
Rigtig god bedring!
Tak, Elisabeth. Får nogen medicin der arbejder på det.
