Danish islands golf tour
Introduction
We started our tour Golf around the World in December 2020. Played in around 2 months in South Africa and then was stuck in SA for a further 3 months due to corona. No flight to take us home. After coming home, we decided to split our tour into smaller trips.
Since then we have played the northern part of Scotland and Wales.
Back in Spain we played our Camino tour de Golf along the south of the Pyrenees from Roses in the east to San Sebastian in the west. Imagine on that stretch you can find more than 12 courses halfway up the mountains. A fantastic trip with great courses.
You can read more about these tours in our previous blog posts.
Now we are back in Denmark and then why not a Danish golf tour.
Yes, and no?
But then – being a Dane and having played some very exciting Danish courses, we decided to make a Danish islands tour to make it exciting to write about and for you to read.
And here we start.
Denmark has 443 named islands and a total of 1,419 islands above 100 m2 of which 72 are inhabited.
Our neighbour to the north is Norway, to the east is Sweden and to the south is Germany. To the west we have the North Sea and England and Scotland.
In the Northern part of Denmark, you will find an island in the sea (Kattegat) in the middle between Denmark and Sweden. (Marked with a blue circle).
The name of that island is Læsø and is the first of the 5 islands we intend to play golf on, on this tour.
Læsø, here we come!
