You do not do it alone
With my interest in golf, reading about the “50 Courses to play before you die”, I asked myself:
Why don’t you just go and play some of these fantastic courses? You can take the time out and find the money. But, no, not at that time.
Primarily because it was not something I wanted to do alone. I have played many great golf courses alone but having someone to share the experiences, is what makes it special. I have missed that many times.
I found a solution to the latter when I met Eza. A lovely woman who loves to play golf. Her game is consistent, playing to a handicap around 14.
She is definitely not as nerdy as me or so eager to be on the driving range as me. She simply goes out and plays the game she can, gets frustrated when it does not go so well and is in a better mood when it does go well. Just as it should be.
Over time, however, she has become more interested in the quality of her equipment and her swing technique and now likes to be on the range at least 30 minutes before we go out and play.
Before we got married, I sent her the book about the “50 Courses you should play before you die” and asked if it was something for her. The answer was a definite YES. So, one of the conditions for realizing the project was met.
